ONCE IN A BLUE MOON
A RARE AND RURAL EVENING RIDE AROUND NEWBURY

Every once in a while, we experience a Blue Moon, an extra 13th moon in a year. In 2023, it will occur on 31 August. That night will be a super moon when it is closest to earth. To celebrate this rarest of events Newbury Road Club members are off on an evening ride to enjoy the spectacle.

This event is open to NRC members only and sign up is via our club app, Spond.

Guest Riders

We have limited space for guests on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need to sign up for a FREE trial, in advance using our club ride app Spond. We expect to ride at around 14 mph for about 20 miles and, as it is an evening/night ride, lights and hi-vis clothing will be essential. How far will you go? 18-20 miles

​

How fast will you ride? 13-15 mph

​

What kind of Bike will I need? Ideally a Road Bike (i.e. thinner tyres) though Hybrid, e-Bikes and Mountain Bikes will all be welcome.
