Many local cyclists ride alone or plan them ad-hoc with a few friends, and there’s nothing wrong with that, especially if you are tight for time or not confident about riding with others.

But with our Club now running more rides, more often than ever, it might be time to enjoy the benefits of group riding. Apart from the motivation to stretch yourself, you’ll explore new routes and of course there’s the chance to swap stories with fellow riders… maybe over a coffee.

​

The club now runs many weekend, midweek, evening, women’s and training rides – all with routes carefully graded and planned by experienced cyclists. There is also a busy calendar of time-trials for those wishing to push their fitness further. You can see all the planned rides and grades on our events calendar here. Members simply book on using our Ride App, turn up and ride.

So, whether you’re a beginner or a regular rider, join us for a Taste of Freedom on 18 July 2021 – we’ll make sure you're back in time to watch the final stage of Le Tour!

Do I need to book? For this event no, though it would be great to know you are coming so feel free to get in touch using our Contact Form here and select ‘Club Rides’

How far will you go? Rides on Sunday 18 July will be approximately 20 miles, 30 miles, 45 miles and 60 miles.

​

How fast will you ride? We grade our rides using the chart shown on this page, but we make sure no one gets left behind.

​

What kind of Bike will I need? Ideally a Road Bike (i.e. thinner tyres) though Hybrid and Mountain Bikes will be OK for the shorter distances.

​
