NRC Members,
While Weekly Club Rides are the backbone of the Club’s activities, we also run several Special Events throughout the year. They are now all in one place, here.
On the bike, members can test themselves against different cycling disciplines, longer distances and less familiar routes, but still in the managed and safe environment of a Club Ride. In 2023, in addition to our established ‘Away Days’, we will be running a series of rides of between 80–100 miles starting and finishing in Newbury. Look out for Mountain Bike rides in the summer evenings and at least two of the highly popular visits to the indoor track at Calshot Velodrome on the South coast. We also have planned a five-day trip to the cycling paradise of Mallorca and a weekend long trip to the Wye valley.
Off the bike, your social team, Maria, Jo, Lucy, Jan and Maureen are planning a busy programme including stretching, fitness, training and bike maintenance sessions along with annual events such as our Quizzes, BBQ and Awards evening. We plan to continue supporting community events too such as Parkrun, Thatcham Fun Day and Wash Common Festival. We will also add come-and-try-it (CATI) dates to this schedule.
