60 riders make the most of the Autumn Sun

Someone likened the Market Place to the Grand Depart of Le Tour!

A drenching on Saturday and a grey start did not dampen the spirits of over 60 riders who tuned up for our Autumn Gold Club rides on Sunday 3 October. The sun shone, the rain stayed away, and the roads were awash with gold and blue.

Plenty of new faces joined regular club riders for Green, Blue, Red and Black rides.

Victoria Sharpe led a Green 10-mile taster for those new to cycling. Alan Alewood and Stuart Hutchins led Green rides to Bramley and Tadley. Our Blue ride, led by Dave Portwood took riders on a ‘silly hilly’ route – in preparation for the forthcoming Club away-weekend in the Brecon Beacons. Red and Black Rides, led by Dave Martin and Allan Bartlett, explored the cafes around Stockbridge. And our ever-popular Women's Ride programme took a group, led by Lorraine Murrell and Nicky Ager, to Hungerford.

A reminder to those who were coming along to join us for the first time, details of all our regular rides are on the NRC Club App Spond – get in touch here and we will get you access.

And for those wishing to join NRC, membership details are here.

We look forward to riding with you again soon!
