On 30 July 2023, local cyclists are invited to join the ‘Wiltshire Wobbler’, a special Sportive to raise precious funds for Special Care Baby Units across our region.
NRC members have had great fun supporting the New Life Special Care Babies charity for the last few years, and this annual event has become a favourite fixture in the summer ride calendar.
The 2023 route will be 100km and will see mixed pace groups winding their way out from Newbury via Marlborough to Honey Street on the Wiltshire plain and returning via Great Bedwyn. As always, the event will be supported by a mobile catering team laden with drinks and homemade sweet and savoury snacks.
In return, it is suggested that riders donate a minimum of £20 per rider to the Charity at the Just Giving link here.
This is not an NRC Event and all cyclists are welcome. On the day, riders will be split into slow, medium and fast groups, however there will be plenty of opportunity to chinwag with other riders, either during the ride or at the obligatory final ‘pub’ stop.

About New Life
The New Life Charity was begun by Trevor Goodall in 1995 as part of a lasting memorial to his twin sons Joshua and Samuel, who were born prematurely but who sadly died shortly afterwards. Since that time a remarkable campaign of creating awareness, educating and fundraising has resulted in over £1M being raised. Trevor, who has good friends in NRC, has devoted much of his time and energy to making sure that local Special Care Baby Units receive either much-needed funds and vital medical equipment to enable them to care for those very special babies born sick or too soon. Newbury Road Club riders have been delighted to support his charity through this annual sportive and other events.
