The Ups and Ups of a Day in the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and not without good reason. This mellow landscape with beautiful stream-side villages and ancient market towns seemingly carved out of the local yellow limestone played host to the Newbury Road Club on Tuesday 8th June. And we chose the best of the early summer sun for a Club away-day to ride this warm and welcoming landscape.

15 riders took on circular routes that began and ended in Burford with a brunch stop in Stow-on-the-Wold. The short steep climbs (and descents) made for challenging riding, especially on bumpy lanes, but the scenery made it all worthwhile.

The Cotswolds trip is part of our ongoing programme of special events that supplement the regular weekly club rides. All members are welcome with a range of grades on offer. Details are posted on the Club Calendar and booking is through the Club Rides app Spond.

Our thanks, as ever, go to the Ride Events Team – especially Peter Booroff for organising.

We have trips to the New Forest and Chilterns planned this summer so keep an eye out. See you on the next ride!
