Newbury Road Club’s Claire Emons has been winning silverware again and set a new club record in the process.

On Sunday 18th July, Claire headed to Shaftesbury Cycling Club in Essex to take part in its 105th annual 50 mile Time Trial. This prestigious cycling event is one of the oldest in the country, first run in 1906.

Claire posted a spectacular time of 01:53:58. That just over 26 mph for nearly 2 hours – on the hottest day of the year!

Not only did she set a new NRC Ladies record for that distance she also took second place woman in the event.

Good going Claire – time for a lie down…
